THE DANGER OF WEAPON DISARMS

In 90% of firearm disarms the firearm discharges at least once. Fighting unarmed against an armed attacker is extremely dangerous, and you WILL get cut or shot unless incredibly lucky.  Defense against knife or gun attackers is limited to only a handful of situations even for seasoned professionals, and even less successful for the every day person. The following three educational videos show individuals with with 30 years of experience, and even for them you will see an eye opening fail rate for common techniques taught in self defense classes and shown in movies.

Not every aspect of these simulations is 100% spot on but it is about as close as you can get without doing it for real and endangering human life and well being. Knowing you will get injured means neutralizing your attacker as quick as possible in order to perform or seek first aid immediately to survive.

YOUR GREATEST TOOLS ARE DE-ESCALATION & RISK MITIGATION

Blame it on whoever or whatever you want, tv or games, or whatever. There are only two people that really fantasize about violence, those who are actually exceptionally skilled and are likely socially broken, or those that have no actual experience with violence and it’s consequences. When we get into a physical conflict we are flipping a coin, and you can weight that coin in your favor with training but you can never fully predict or control how it lands. I truly believe in an educational approach and skills that help us risk mitigate and de-escalate confrontation, especially the unnecessary ones. Here is a few videos about the important of Risk Mitigation & De-Escalation.

In addition to providing 100% customized training Defense Education strives to provide educational content that helps develop perspective by sharing content from other educational videos from other creators which highlight the value of de-escalation and risk mitigation.
